Zach Kennedy
Senior Pastor
Zach grew up in the triad area of NC and became a follower of Christ as a child. He has been married to the love of his life, Kelly, since 2010 and together they have 3 sons. He is a graduate of Emmanuel College in GA and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. In his spare time, he is an avid reader and sports fan, particularly of the Carolina Panthers and Hurricanes, and Notre Dame Football.
Ed Ford
Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Education
Ed was born in Michigan, but for almost all his life was raised on the Jersey shore. He has a A.A. degree from Ocean County College, a B.S. in Religion from Liberty University, a M.A.R in Biblical Studies from Liberty, and an MDiv. From Liberty University. He has a wife, two young adult sons, and three dogs. He loves spending time with family. His hobbies include playing guitar, reading, hiking, and hunting.
Gary Harris
Associate Pastor of Families, Youth, and Children
Gary was born and raised in Caldwell Co. He has a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of NC at Charlotte and an M.Div in Christian Apologetics from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a focus on the biblical languages. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
Dirk Austin
Worship Leader
Originally from Alexander County, Dirk attended North Carolina State University, where he graduated with a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering with a Concentration in Mathematics. Dirk is bi-vocational, splitting his time between Corning Optical Communications in Hickory and Mount Zion. He has a wife, two adult sons, and an Australian Shepherd. Dirk has taken private lessons in piano, organ, and woodwind instruments. He has been directing various groups/choirs in churches for well over 40 years. Dirk’s passion is music, from traditional to contemporary, and using it to praise, honor, and glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sherry White

Sherry is a native of Caldwell County. She is married to Greg White, and they have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. She has served at Mount Zion since 2009. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
